Description: The Youth Entrepreneurial Service Foundation is a referent institution for youth entrepreneurship development, since 2005. It has implemented many activities for increased employability of young people through multiple training programs, and has extensive experience in entrepreneurial support & built an extensive network of stakeholders, both private & public, including a strong network of start-up & SMEs mentors, advisers & developers. It runs the biggest and the only ICT incubator in the country, which has supported over 85 start-ups that have created over 350 work places. Through one of its founders (Foundation for Management and Industrial Research) YES has access to Enterprise Europe Network and Technology Innovation International.
The foundation operates the entrepreneurship portal www.pretpriemac.mk with the highest outreach in the country. YES has brought the Global Entrepreneurship Week in Macedonia in 2008 and the Start-up Weekend initiative in 2011. Over 9000 people have participated in its large scale entrepreneurship events and over 5000 in its various trainings. YES project development and implementation programme focuses on four intervention areas: employment creation, entrepreneurship, employability, and equal opportunities. Since 2007, YES Foundation has been involved in the implementation of over 60 projects in the aforementioned areas; 1/3 of the projects represent small grants or local tenders and the larger scale projects are supported by different donors including NMFA, EC, South East Europe and CBC programmes.
The role of YES Foundation in the BalkanMed INNOVA project: Project Partner
YES will coordinate WP5 on Innovative Ideas & start-ups, it will set the terms and conditions of the Business Ideas Competition and will manage all project partners’ participation.
YES will transfer knowledge and experience on entrepreneurial learning, supporting innovation & raising start-ups. It will further employ its partners’ network for the project dissemination.
